My work is rooted in faith, history, family, and Black culture. Through portraiture and narrative painting, I explore the stories, beliefs, and experiences that shape how we see ourselves and one another. Whether drawing from personal experiences, historical narratives, or everyday moments, I hope my work encourages viewers to reflect on how those influences shape how we see ourselves and others. At its core, my work seeks to affirm the dignity, worth, and humanity of my subjects. Acrylic is my primary medium, though I often return to my roots in mixed media, using layers of texture and color to help tell each story.
My work has been featured in the Museum of Science and Industry's Black Creativity Exhibition in Chicago (2023 and 2026), Giving Her, Her Flowers at Navy Pier, and the Oak Bluffs Public Library's Sankofa Festival and HBCU Legacy Week on Martha's Vineyard. My paintings are held in private collections across the United States.
